My browser is currently giving a warning that the site is potentially malicious or contains malware links. I think there might be a problem with a banner ad.

Not the OP, but Malwarebytes has been blocking the new site ever since it was established. Browser is Firefox. I made post about it in the early days of the site, but it's still happening.
